The Desert-5 is the elite magnum pistol available in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. It is more powerful than the Wes-44 Revolver due to its larger caliber. It is overall the best magnum pistol, as it has 1 extra round per magazine, 2 extra rounds total can be carried, and it has slightly better accuracy. The only disadvantage to the Desert-5 is that it has a slightly slower rate of fire and higher recoil than a normal pistol. The Desert-5 is replaced by the Mag-5 for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The Desert-5 never appeared in the beta.
Trivia
- Many enemies have a laser sight attached and in use when wielding the weapon, however, as with the Dragon Sniper the player can never use the laser sight.
- The "5" may refer to it being the .50 Action Express version of the Desert Eagle, which would be correct. There are three variations of caliber, .357 (9 rounds), .44 Magnum (8 rounds), and .50 AE (7 rounds). Since it is so powerful, it is most likely the .50 AE version, which would also be correct on magazine capacity.
- The Desert-5 was Harry Flynn's weapon of choice; Eddy Raja wielded a golden plated model.
- It is based on the Mark XIX variant of the IMI Desert Eagle.
