The Pistole is a shotgun pistol featured in the Among Thieves. It serves as a one-handed replacement for the standard two-handed shotgun weapons, allowing Nate a close-range weapon, without giving up the accuracy and range a rifle would provide. Like a normal shotgun the Pistole provides high stopping power at close range, but also quickly loses power the farther the target it. It is further off-set by its highly limited ammo capacity of only two bullets, forcing frequent reloads, and making it not as useful in longer close-range engagements.

Among Thieves

The Pistole only was available around the middle chapters of Among Thieves, sometimes being used as an alternative to the Moss - 12 by Zoran Lazarević's soldiers. Its first appearance was in "Only One Way Out", and the last in "Reunion", around which time the SAS - 12 replaced both shotguns entirely.

Drake's Deception

The Pistole is found only in the chapters that involve the Indian Ocean pirates, being first seen in Abducted. The Pistole was never seen again.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

First encountered in "The Grave of Henry Avery", the Pistole reprises its role as a powerful 2 round shotgun in the pistol slot.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

The Pistole was first seen in the "Cave" encounter in Partners, it was seen again in the train in End of the Line. It was used by Asav's insurgents.

Design

The Pistole appears to be visually inspired by an over/under break action shotgun. For some reason, in Among Thieves it also has a cutout resembling the ejection port of a pump action shotgun on the side. In Among Thieves and Drake's Deception, it reloads by swinging out to the side, similarly to a revolver. This design renders the bottom barrel inaccessible, raising the question of how it can hold 2 shots. In A Thief's End, it instead breaks open like a normal over/under shotgun.

Medal and trophy

Scoring 20 kills with the Pistole will unlock the medal, worth $10,000, and bronze trophy 20 Kills: Pistole in both Among Thieves and Among Thieves Remastered.

Trivia

During Among Thieves and Drake's Deception, The Pistole was used by shotgun soldiers, but in The Lost Legacy, it was used by normal soldiers.
