Gretchen Welch is a character that appears in the novel Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth. She is a student working alongside Maynard Cheney at the Museum of Natural History. She is the sister of Ian Welch.

Events in The Fourth LabyrinthEdit

Nathan Drake, Victor Sullivan, and Jada Hzujak head to the Museum of Natural History to speak with Dr. Cheney about Luka Hzujak's research on labyrinths. Gretchen gives the trio a brief tour of Dr. Cheney's "Labyrinth's of the Ancient World" exhibit before reaching his office, where they find Cheney murdered by the Protectors of the Hidden Word. As Nate and Jada chase after the killer, Gretchen calls security.

Nate and Jada return to Sully and Gretchen. Gretchen informs them that her brother, Ian, is the manager at an excavation site in Egypt where he is continuing Luka and Cheney's research on labyrinths. Gretchen promises to contact her brother to give the trio permission to enter the dig site. Nate, Sully, and Jada leave the museum before the police arrive.

• There are a few references to Welch having a crush on Dr. Maynard Cheney. Many times she calls her boss Maynard, instead of his formal title, Dr. Cheney. On page 35 of Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth, afer hearing her call Cheney Maynard, he thinks the following words: "Oh, it's Maynard now. Someone had a little crush on her boss.'"
