Lord Godfrey was a crusader in the 12th century, and was among those first searching for Iram. He eventually retired to a chateau in eastern France.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception []
In Drake's Deception, Nathan Drake and Victor Sullivan went to explore the chateau, and found Lord Godfrey's tomb. Inside, along with Godfrey's body, was one half of an amulet that contained clues to the whereabouts to Iram. The other half was hidden in Syria.[1]
