Analysis
Edit
The piece is written in common time (4/4 time signature) and contains a 4 bar drum introduction, followed by the entrance of the horns at the end of bar 4. The first horn section builds slowly, capturing the spirit of adventure associated with the game. The instruments fall silent during bar 22, and from the 23rd bar the piece appears to slow slightly, an effect created by Edmonson who greatly increases the lengths of the notes, using semibreves (whole notes) and minims (half notes). However, the tempo of the piece remains the same. The effect here is a short, almost haunting interlude, which builds in a slow crescendo before bursting into the piece's triumphant and uplifting finale, which begins at bar 37. After this, the piece slowly fades out and ends with a much more minimalistic version of the original drumbeat.
Nate's Theme 2.0
Edit
Nate's Theme 2.0 is a slightly altered version of the piece that appears in Uncharted 2. For Nate's Theme 2.0, Edmonson made the sound of the dholak drums much more prominent than in the original score. The entrance of the horns in bar 5 is also more prominent, pushing the melody harder than in the original theme.
Nate's Theme 3.0
Edit
Nate's Theme 3.0 is another rendition of the oringal piece that appears in Uncharted 3. It sounds more similar to 1.0 than it does to 2.0.
