Lawrence (16 August 1888 - 19 May 1935) was a British Army officer renowned especially for his role during the Arab Revolt of 1916 – 1918. The extraordinary breadth and variety of his activities and associations, and his ability to describe them vividly in writing, have earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, a title popularised by a film based on his life.

In the game, on the day of his motorcycle accident (May 13, 1935), a package containing his findings on Ubar was mailed from Dorset, England. The Hermetic sect that Marlowe headed was believed to have been the cause of the accident, as witnesses saw a black car run him off the highway. The package came into the hands of the sect, and was filled with Lawrence's accounts of the Crusaders. A thousand years ago, the Crusaders were also on a quest to find Ubar. Lawrence was able to map two Crusader sites with Sabean script that would help lead to Ubar: a Chateau in a forest in eastern France and a castle in Syria.
